Algy was designed by Anthony Harradine, Director of the Noel Baker Institute, Prince Alfred College and Gwyn Morfey of InSite.
Algy was created to support students in their quest to be competent symbolic manipulators. Its development was prompted by the puzzling question of how CAS (Computer Algebra System) can be used fruitfully with young students, who are learning to think algebraically.
